Accessibility statement

Last updated: July 2026

Visit Central Valley is committed to making our website usable and welcoming for everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to explore the Central Valley with ease.

Our approach

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a working standard. In building this site we've focused on:

  • Clear, readable text with strong colour contrast.
  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, links and forms.
  • Responsive layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops.
  • Respecting the “reduce motion” setting for animations.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks to help screen readers.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time task. Some content — particularly third-party listings, embedded maps, or older images — may not yet fully meet our goals. We continue to test and improve the site over time.

Traveling with accessibility needs

Planning a trip? Many Central Valley attractions and all three nearby national parks offer accessible facilities and services. Because availability varies by location and season, we recommend contacting each destination directly, and checking the National Park Service accessibility pages, before you visit.
